Spoiler

  • TzTok-Jad, translated as "Hot Obsidian Elemental", is the level 702 boss of the Fight Caves minigame.
  • In the original game, the Fight Caves were a progression of increasingly difficult waves, 1-63.
  • On Onyx, this has been greatly shortened to either Wave 51+ (Normal) or Wave 62+ (Test Mode).
  • The caves give the iconic Fire Cape as a reward and a chance at the Jad pet (TzRek-Jad).

This is the meta. You DO NOT need this gear!

  • Midgame Players: Arma + CCB is cruisin. Should be a breeze.
  • Lategame Players: The gear shown above will OBLITERATE Jad.

  • Enhanced Excalibur:
  • If you want to get your feet wet on how this special weapon works (for Inferno, later)...
  • This bad boy heals 50!! every 3 minutes with its special.
  • Here's a How-To on getting your hands on it:

Spoiler

Test Mode (When to Activate):

Spoiler

  • Test Mode DOES NOT count for the "KC" you would need for slayer / cape / Jad pet.
  • Test Mode DOES count for the "KC" you would need to access Inferno.
  • TLDR: Test Mode ONLY for practice or getting to Inferno fast.

Monsters & Waves:

Spoiler

image.png.2ed3463974604b585e95eab89f82bd89.png

  • On Onyx, the waves that need cleared (51+) are written above.
  • Fight Caves is all about kill priority. As you'd expect, 360 > 180 > 90 in terms of danger.
  • As you can read below, the Ket-Zek can hit a 54. So pray Protect Magic to start each wave at least.
  • Try to trap the 180 (meleer) behind other monsters.
  • I call the 90s the "hitmen", as their ranged attack is often not prayed against.
  • Unless you're great at prayer switching, you'll need to eat some 90's ranged volleys.

  • On Jad, you need to know that projectiles register a lot later than on OSRS.
  • This means that you need to keep Protection Prayers activated longer than you might expect!
  • Try to trap the healers behind Jad or behind a rock and deal with them.
  • When Jad slams the ground, Protect from Ranged.
  • When Jad stands upright, Protect from Mage.

Very clean guide! The only thing I could think you might be able to add example animations (gifs) of the ranged and mage attacks for those who might have no experience at all in the fight caves. Other than that, very very well made guide!
