Where are you from?
How long have you been a part of Onyx?
I've been part of the Onyx community since July.
How many hours do you spend online daily?
I work full time, however I can promise atleast 4 hours a day.
Are you active both in-game and on our forums?
I do use the forums regularly, however it's mainly to look over guides etc. I am more active on Discord.
I have recently had a break from Onyx due to personal issues - however I am back and want to really try and push, not only, my account but also try to get involved more in suggestions.
Why do you want to be part of our Staff team?
I would like to be on the staff team for a few reasons: firstly, as everyone says, I would like to have the ability to help people more than just giving advice, being on the staff team gives more direct links to the Management team - allowing me to pass on vital information quickly, allowing the issue to be highlighted and resolved quickly. However I do not believe that you need staff to be able to help - as I do whenever I am online.
Furthermore, this is a slightly more selfish reason however, as a staff member I will be able to have direct discussion with the Management team on where we would like to see the server going and how future updates will be executed as I believe that I could have good input into these discussions.
Finally, I would like to try and get some responsibility on the server - trying to run events etc and getting really stuck in with the community to try and drive mass bossing/groups, mainly to get high end items in the game but to also bring newer players up to end game.
How would you describe your strengths?
I would like to say that my strengths are very useful, especially for the role of a support; I currently work in customer service so I have a good understanding of how to treat people - either if they're angry, frustrated or sad. Moreover, I am a good leader and I have noticed that I can bring people together and really empathise with people to promote meaningful conversation, which will be good if talking to people about suggestions and also debating with the team on new updates/ideas.
Furthermore, nurturing newer and lower players is something I do pride myself on - one of the things that I've seen is that people running TOB require you to have a MK2, when I don't mind what the person has and they can always join me on my runs.
I am very sociable and do like to have a laugh with people, as I strive off of social interaction naturally - so it's something that I really enjoy doing.
How would you describe your weaknesses?
I think one of my weaknesses is the fact that I do work full time so my availability is limited around that. Also because I tend to be very kind and respectful to people - a lot of people may find that patronising, which is something I am aware of. I can get a bit frustrated at times - I quickly remove myself from the situation if I do feel this way.
Please describe any experience in leadership roles you have or had:
I have had my fair share of staffing experiences on servers, big and small, which have allowed me to shape my personality around being customer service driven - as that is the kind of "job role" of staff, especially a support member.
My main server roles have been: Global Moderator (Simplicity), having an active playerbase of about 200 and Co-owner (staff/donations/community manager) of Autoscape, which used to have an active playerbase of 30-50 with about 2-3 afks.
Why should we choose you over another member’s application?
I have a desire for Onyx to go to high places in the RSPS world, and I believe that I can make an impact.
In a short paragraph, please explain what you’ll bring to the server with this position and what you hope to achieve:
I would like to personally focus on retention of players, as although I did HAVE to take time out - I also was sort of "ok" with it because the game does get tedious at points, and it is especially frustrating to progress after a certain point. As I have had insight into this mindset, and I can assure you that a few other people have left because of this - I can help brainstorm specific ideas in order to try and prevent this from happening.
Do you understand that if you break rules, abuse powers, or turn out to be a horrendous Staff Member, you will be demoted and might have possible further actions taken against you depending on your actions?
