Where are you from? The Netherlands
How long have you been a part of Onyx? I believe I first logged into Onyx just after New Year 2020.
How many hours do you spend online daily? Between 5-15 hours. I currently don't work, which allows me to be online more often.
Are you active both in-game and on our forums? Unfortunately, I haven't spent a lot of time on the forums yet as a contributor, I am however looking to change that by (for example) posting some guides I had planned online. Regarding in-game activity, I would say I'm very active.
Why do you want to be part of our Staff team? Helping out others is something I really enjoy. Not only because it can be a challenge sometimes, but also because I know how much others appreciate your help. One small piece of advice could be a gamechanger for someone. Sharing is caring, especially for a community like Onyx.
How would you describe your strengths? One of my greatest strengths would be on a social level. Good communication is key to developing a lasting community. When others are happy, I'm happy. It's nice to see the positivity and wisdom you bring into the game, reflect. Apart from this, there is something about helping and conversate with people that gives me a sense of satisfaction.
Besides my social abilities, I have been playing Runescape and Rsps since I was ~9 years old. Yes, I believe I was 9. Runescape always has a special place in my heart. As a maxed player on rs3 and almost maxed player on osrs, I certain I'd be a great asset to the team.
How would you describe your weaknesses? Writing applications is one of my weaknesses, as I've never really had to write any over the last couple of years (My current job didn't require me to write any kind of application, but instead made me prove myself in practice.)
Besides this, I tend to take on personal issues/feelings all on my own without any outside help. In the past, this unfortunately, led to unnecessary stress and pressure. However, I never let this have any influence on my job or others, I did my best to hide them.. until I decided to reach out for help. This made me understand that you can't solve everything on your own. Sometimes it's just better to involve others. In the end, we should all learn from certain experiences and never get stuck in them.
Please describe any experience in leadership roles you have or had: I've been a branch manager at a sales company since 2018. I had to climb my way up starting as a rookie.
It's been quite a few years since I played private servers before Onyx, but I've been admin and moderator on a few small servers (20-50 players)
Why should we choose you over another member’s application? I believe I'm very suited for the spot. Over the last month(s) I feel like I've contributed a fair amount to the community. I hope the players feel the same way about me. For me, It's important players know that they can always turn to staff when they need help with anything (or just for a nice conversation, nothing wrong with that right?). Whether it'll be me joining the staff team, or someone else. On a side note, I believe that I have the necessary skills to run, organize and plan various events here on Onyx. I've always enjoyed joining events, this way I'd like to return the favor.
In a short paragraph, please explain what you’ll bring to the server with this position and what you hope to achieve: Whether I'm a staff member or not: I'll continue bringing positivity into the game and spreading my knowledge to whoever seeking help to maintain a strong community base. I would love to be able to organize events where people actually go. In my opinion, bringing players together on private servers is vital. I believe I'd be a great asset to the onyx team because of this.
Do you understand that if you break rules, abuse powers, or turn out to be a horrendous Staff Member, you will be demoted and might have possible further actions taken against you depending on your actions? I most certainly understand, that by doing any of the above, consequences are unavoidable. I'm not the type of person to engage in something without having the right mindset.
I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks for reading!
